Just another fat person ...
But hopefully not for much longer! I'm a 30-something wife and mother of two who is determined to get rid of this extra weight (no, not my husband and kids, lol). I've yo-yo'ed with my weight since childhood. Fat, thin, fat, thin, blah, blah, blah. I'm sick of being at an unhealthy weight. I want to get rid of my aching knees, chest pains, and labored breathing. And I wouldn't mind being able to go shopping and buy any outfit, knowing it'd look good on me. ...
How do I plan to lose this fat? For now, I'm sticking with the 1200-1550 calorie range that SP recommended for me. More veggies and protein is what I'm striving for. I also want to get in an average of 50 minutes of cardio/strength training a day. I'll try this for a month and see where it takes me. What's a month, right? Oh, and something that I REALLY am trying to work on is my sugar and chocolate addiction. I hate using the word 'addiction' (it sounds so serious), but I truly feel addicted. I can easily polished off a family-sized bag of Hershey Kisses and then eat a half-gallon of ice cream an hour later. And then crave more junk food later on the same day. I've done this waaay too many times. I've been binging on chocolate and candy since I was 7. All through my childhood, my mom used to give me lots of sweets as a reward or to 'quiet me down' (but oddly, she rarely ate junk food herself). For a couple of years on my own as an adult I did manage to eat healthier and I lost a ton of weight. Happy times, indeed! Then I got married to a wonderful man 10 years ago. But I allowed my healthy lifestyle to go out the door and, instead, adopted his ways of not exercising and eating fast food often. Add two children to the mix, and I ended up gaining a whopping 100 lbs in those 10 years. I have since managed to lose 16 lbs since January of 2009, but now I need SP to help me lose the rest. I'm starting SP at 194 lbs and hope to get down to 110 lbs (a weight where I felt my healthiest). Oh, and my avatar isn't a photo of me (lol, don't I wish!), but it is Kiana, one of my fitness hero celebrities. ~~~~~ Things that are working for me (I'm losing a lb every other day): 1. I exercise a lot (100-170 minutes a day, most days of the week). 2. Running a few times per week. Since I started, I noticed a good change in both my appeartance & on the scale. 3. I eat a lot. 2000+ cals a day, most days. 4. I have half a lemon a day. I don't know if this has anything to do with my continued weight loss, but it can't hurt. :-) 5. I strength train a few days per week, using moderate/heavy weights. 5. I gave up artificial sweeteners.
