Fifi: fit & fabulous in the fifties!

Small bites for the biggest of tasks.
Haere mai, welcome to my page, Sparkers!

I started off slow on Sparkpeople, reading articles and exploring. going for the daily bonus spin, & taking care of the basics, such as sleep. Found my Spark and released the majority of my excess fat in 2013. Still a way to go, but it's in sight. Plan to be at goal in mid 2014, and when I get there, I'm sticking around!

I'm not losing the unwanted fat, I am getting rid of it and I have an eating and exercise programme that I can follow happily into maintenance.

While I still have more weight to release I am starting to focus on maintenance and have joined the maintenance team so I can warm up to what I see as the biggest challenge.

Feel free to drop by my page or blogs any time!

My Goals:
Increase fitness, flexibility & energy. Gain muscle, lose fat. In 2014 my focus is on releasing fat and more weight based exercise.
Doing pretty well so far, just 10 kg to goal, which should be around mid year.

My Program:
Log in every day & go for the bonus spin.
7-9 hours exercise weekly, mostly Zumba & water exercise. Loving my FitBit Flex & aiming for 10,000 'steps' (most of this is water exercise) injury free.
Rocking the Cura Romana to reset my weight and eating patterns in 2014.

Personal Information:
I'm a Kiwi chick, living with my DH in New Zealand. We have cats & chickens. I work part time and I love to garden.

Other Information:
I access Sparkpeople on my old iPad. It's a bit clunky. To do more than the basics, I need to get to another computer, so I don't always reply to messages straight away. Uh, and when I type, the text is tiny, so don't be surprised at some bizarre punctuation & comments, blame predictive text, LOL!

Thanks for your comment on my SparkPage. Allergies are a year-round issue for me which used to be somewhat controlled with allergy meds that I had to discontinue when I developed a heart condition (tachycardia - racing heart, which has gone into A-fib - irregular heart 3 times). I am allergic to many foods, food additives, environmental items like dust, mold, pollen (list of flower & trees here), as well as anything that is chemical-based, i.e., scented products of any kind, chlorine (had to give up my water exercises), gasoline fumes, cleaning materials, etc., etc. I carry a rescue inhaler and Epi-pen for serious reactions but these also escalate heart condition. Medical advice is avoid, avoid, avoid allergens.

I tried sending this message through Spark Mail, but it wouldn't go through. So I'm posting it here. If you get 10,000 copies in your inbox, I'm sorry.

Hi Fifi!

Thank you for all your support as I whine about my sore hip and leg. I've been a good Dog and have been taking ibuprofen, stretching, soaking, foam rollering... Seems like my body is going to heal however it wants.

I was hoping for relief with the epsom salts soak last night. Meh. Not so much. I'm going to give it a try again tonight. I can't believe that the miracle cure for plantar fasciitis won't work with this problem, too.

Laura

No Epsom salts bath, Feef. It was so late by the time I got home last night, I went straight to bed.
