The Rest of My Life

I have spent the last fifteen years being a mother first, wife second and a person third. My children are nearing adulthood and I'm ready to make some changes that will make my "retirement" plans possible. I'm 37 with fibromyalgia, arthritis, Type 2 diabetes and other issues. My life can only get better from here, but I have to make it happen.

Hey and welcome! I've found that Sparkpeople's really helped me lose weight and eat a more balanced diet. I know at first it can be hard, but trust me, it's totally worth it!

I like the idea that you're putting yourself first. One thing that I had to get out of the habit was "rewarding" myself with sweets. After a while, I just started thinking "why am I rewarding myself with something that hurts me?" and started looking for other rewards.

As a daughter of a very dedicated mother, I wish you all the best! Please let me know if you need any help or just feel like venting! emoticon
