Breaking Free From The Bondage Of Obesity~ My Journey From 271 lbs to 135 lbs!

July 27th, 2007- I SNAPPED! I had reached my highest weight (271 lbs) and I was sick of being fat. It was then that I made the commitment to change my life. Over the next two years I lost 136 lbs and am maintaining my weight loss well today. I do struggle with gaining and losing those last 10-15 lbs so my ultimate goal is to continue to make wise decisions in how I treat my body and soul. I work hard to stay active and eat healthy. I try to use moderation with all foods that I love.

I just ultimately want to feel healthy, comfortable, and at peace within myself and in this world. I've had a lot of ups and downs during this entire process of losing weight, and I feel like I'm a stronger person because of the challenges I have faced. But I have a challenge ahead. It's been 5 years since I went on that first real "I'm going to do this" diet. And now I have to learn to live a healthy life and keep the weight off forever. I'm looking ahead and anticipating more challenges. I'm here on Sparkpeople because I know I'll find the help, support, and encouragement that I need to keep this journey going.

So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun. ~ Ecclesiastes 8:15

Hello stranger. It's been a long time. You are looking pretty amazing there. I'm not on here much anymore. I aimed for a weight goal of 180/185 lbs. and have actually hit a dream weight if 165 lbs.

Hi, my name is Paula~~~~~I noticed your spark page and friended you......You did an amazing job on your weightloss...I wanted to ask if you had any trouble toning up afterward. That is where I am at now.......after a 60 lb weightloss I am still flabby and I hate it......My hubby and I are on a quest to get fit.
We lift weights almost every day and we also play disc golf very frequently which is a great workout in itself. anyhoo, just wanted to say HI!! and compliment you on your sucess!!!!!
