Doing this for my health!

No this time! AHHH. Just do it already!!!!!!

I'm Maggie.
I've been playing yo-yo with my body since I was 16.
I'm 29 and my body no longer wants to play.
I LOVE my body.
My body DOES NOT love the extra weight it has to carry around.
I want to LOVE my body and make IT happy.
I need motivation.
I need support.
So - I'm here, again.

I want to become a healthier me! That sounds corny doesn't it? But it's the truth. I have Cerebral Palsy and losing the weight would help me get around better, and make it a little easier to get up when I fall on my face.

Hi Maggie! Boy was I glad to see your comment-- I've been needing a reason to get active on the site again! I am currently using MyFitnessPal and RunKeeper a lot more than SP, but I do miss the community aspect of this site... It's what hooked me when I first joined years ago, and it definitely played a huge role in me losing weight the first time around. It really helps to have others to talk to and keep you in check, don't ya think?!

I've had a great weekend hanging out with my boyfriend and my family... Not looking forward to the workweek starting again tomorrow, but I'm hitting the gym before work in the morning and then meeting two of my girlfriends for pizza and drinks at Mellow Mushroom (yummm!) for a girls' night after work.

I will definitely have to watch what I order, though, and stick to only a couple of beers! How was your weekend?

Hey girl! Sorry I am just now getting back to your post on my page -- been busy busy busy. How are you doing? I just read your blog post, and you can SO do this.

The most difficult thing for me has also been food (I'm a chocoholic!) and teaching my eyes to see food as fuel for my body, and rather than a delicious indulgence (don't get me wrong, I usually indulge 1 day per week) was a difficult thing. When I eat now, I eat for energy and fuel for my workouts. I still have a way to go. When I joined SP, I was about 170-173. I've gotten down to 138 in the past, but I am currently at about 149. I am working to gain muscle, too, which I know will just disappoint me on the scale... but my new overall goal is less about the number and more about how my body FEELS and how my healthy and fit body will make my MIND feel. I want to feel comfortable in my own skin, you know? In a couple of weeks, I will begin training for a November half-marathon. Coming from someone who NEVER enjoyed running, I am partially doing it simply to challenge myself. I know how hard it can be when you crave certain foods, but I can tell you FROM EXPERIENCE, the less sugar you eat (I am trying to stay under 25 grams of sugar per day... talk about eye-opening), the less you crave it. I crave things like grilled shrimp, cottage cheese, and veggie burgers! Whew, sorry that this was so long-winded... Just thought I would share a little of what I've been doing and offer some advice -- I'm here if you need ANYTHING, even if it's just someone to rant to!!

Aw, you get to do a thing with your dog!! how fun!!

And I've used the free trials of Spark Coach... it's kind of cool, but not something I think I need enough to pay for. I like getting 25 points a day, though. :)
