Just a quick update, (2-11-2016) having a hard time. I want to lose the weight but am lazy and don't want to do the work. Need to change my mind set that is for sure. Still want to do the Dash Diet as my doctor suggested. I have the book and need to read and do!!

I am still struggling to return to MY life. Although is has been almost 2 years since our adult daughter died (cancer) I think I am realizing that there is no returning to what my life was. This is a new path that I now walk and in the quiet moments, some days can be rather bleak.

Most people have lost someone special in their lives. (Though a parent out living a child seems to go against all the laws of nature!)

I have joined a local Healthy Lifestyle Group. We meet once a week, weigh in and talk.

I have to take control of my life so that I can enjoy retirement with my husband and long term, not be a burden on any one. With the cost of health care I have to think of the dollar and cents that my continuing unhealthy life style may cost myself and the family.

I pop in from time to time on Spark but I am not back to full time yet. I held most of my weight loss through out all of this. So that was good but I have a long way to go still.

Thank you for reading, I hope that you find your path to happiness and health even if you stop along the way, never give up on yourself. Life is to short not to live it to its fullest.

My Goals:

Drop another 50 pounds. Following the Dash Diet.
Adding more movement each week.
De-clutter my house and garage.
Drink 3-4 liters of water a day.

My Program:
I am using these numbers to loose about 1-2 pounds a week.

Calories: 1,500-1,600

Fiber. 35 plus

Sodium 1,500mg daily

To drink 3-4 liters of water a day.

Personal Information:
My husband and I have been together 43yrs.

We had three grown kids. Two girls and a boy.
Our eldest daughter died from cancer.

We have four grandchildren all boys!
But a new baby is on the way and she is a girl!!

I have major health issues.
I have heart problems.
I am a diabetic, and I
I have high blood pressure and kidney stones.

Some issues are better controlled by meds than others.
My latest issue is blood pressure being higher while on medication.

Other Information:
I was born in England so I love English movies, tv shows etc. I love the British humour! I left England when I was 19 years old and I moved to Canada. In 1988 we moved to the USA.

I love to knit. ( That helps keep the hands from food and eating.) Te He
