its been way too long!!!! Happy New Year!!!

hi all! its been a long time since i have been on here! I had alot of health issues in 2011. I was laid up for months with a bad back. Then I faced issues with my diabetes. I had to have parts of a toe removed. Quite a wake up call!!!
Now I want to really encourage others more than ever and get myself even healthier.
I have lost 40 pds. But need to lose more!!!
So my first resolution Was to get back on spark!!!!
Cant wait to reconnect makend new friends and help others!!!

My Goals:
Lose weight by #1)exercising daily. #2)keep a food journal and keep track of carbs.
reduce stress by walking doing yoga and journaling.
learn something new each week! even if just a simple recipe!record new things done in my regular daily journal.

My Program:
fitness with a friend. i plan to go 4 times a wk.
i will continue to do what yoga i can every day using the beginner tape i bought







1)walk daily
2)go to planet fitness for strength training 3 days a wk.
3)journal food and see where i need to make changes











Personal Information:
i work the night shift in a state run group home.i work 4 10 hr shifts.
i have diabetes and control it via diet exercise and medication-oral and insulin

Other Information:
i work with mentally challenged adults and if any one out does the same and needs a bit of encouragement let me know!
also i would love to hear from grammas and their stories of their grand kids!

The rain pretty much stopped here too so my husband and I went on a 12 mile bike ride. Best I've done this year. The farthest had been 8 miles so I was pretty happy. emoticon emoticon

Hi there - I like your Sparkpage. I noticed that you are trying to control your blood sugars by eating fewer carbs. I thought you might like to check out our Low Carb 50+ Females team. We have several members who are also trying to control their sugars by eating low carb. I have been low carbing for a number of years - off and on since 2002. It really works for me.
