I need to lose about 50 pounds. This is too much weight particularly for my arthritic hips.

Hi and welcome! I tried everything, too, including stapling (no bypass) and that didn't work, had to have the stapling repaired, that didn't work so finally years later at nearly 300 lbs I tried the good old diet and exercise. It did work until the arthritis stepped in. I have 2 artificial knees now with arthritis hips and lower back the latter which has caused scoliosis. I am in Florida-originally from Nebraska, 61 and trying to re lose 50 lbs. As the the bike, I would think it would be okay for your hips but you could easily as a Dr or physical therapist. You could even check out a team or board here for folks with artificial hips-I'm sure there's one out there. Good luck!

YAY! Another old hippie! And from Sacramento, no less. Welcome aboard!

We just moved to Folsom, and are thrilled with the area. Just like living in Midtown, except our home is bigger (and more affordable!)

Hope to get to know you, and perhaps see you on light rail one day.
