I ballooned to my highest weight in 2008 of 163 pounds, which is obese for only being five feet tall. It was a combination of medication and mindless overeating that triggered the weight gain. With some adjustments in my medication, eating better, and of course exercise, I slimmed down to 125 lbs. I started on my journey as a Zumba Instructor and have enjoyed it ever since. I gained a little of the weight back due to some hormonal issues, so I've got about 10 lbs to lose. But I've done it before and I can do it again!

My Goals:
I have lost about 40 lbs with 10 to go. I am exercising, eating clean, and keeping my mental health in check. I plan to keep my workouts fresh and incorporate dance, aerobics, strength training, the elliptical, and various DVD's when I cannot get to the gym.


My Program:
After a recent hysterectomy, I am working to get back in shape. I am back at the gym doing cardio and weights. When not at the gym I do my workout DVD's. I plan to be more consistent with working out this year and eating clean to stay in shape.



Personal Information:
I was born in Brooklyn, NY from a Puerto Rican family and raised in southern Pennsylvania. I am an only child. I am married with no children and 2 extremely affectionate chihuahuas. I love music, singing, and dance. Especially Zumba!


Other Information:
I suffer from Bipolar Disorder, OCD, Hypothyroidism, Fibromyalgia, and Anxiety. The Sparkteams really help me with these issues. Even though you may have certain limitations, it doesn't mean you can't reach your goals. They just might take a little longer.

    Not sure about buying the book i have bought so many diet books and i know alot but got to apply it to my life. I am making positive changes back in July 2010 on my birthday i gave up all soda pop and am drinking decaffee tea or water alot ! At least 8 glasses of water a day . Also for 35 days i have quit all sweets deserts sugar all but for what might be in items like ketchup dressings and things like that. It has made a big difference in my attitude when stressed but i don't know how long i can give them up ! emoticon Want to know more about eating clean is why i joined the team ! I want to eat healthy and be happy with what i see in the mirror not just weight wise ! emoticon
