From a spark to a roaring fire...

Hi, my name is eternal_flame - this is because I have a burning desire to be a better version of myself!

I want to lose weight to improve my health & fitness and also to make me feel better about myself & improve my relationship with my husband. I'm not one to condone diets or other gimmicks but I have got nowhere by myself so I am hoping that SP is going to provide the answer I am looking for *fingers crossed*.

Update - 17.09.13 - Starting over today, hopefully for the last time. This year is proving to be a good one for me and I really want that to include some success with my weight loss!

Update – 31.12.13 – As of today, I have lost 8lbs since 17th September 2013. Not much, granted, but it is 8lbs more than I have lost in many years, so I am delighted! Here’s to gathering pace during 2014 and achieving my goals!

Update - 01.03.14 - I've now lost 15lbs since 17.09.13 - that's so great! I've decided to put my scales away now and concentrate on losing inches from my waist. I want to reach the UK government suggestion of a healthy waist, which is 32". I've a long way to go, but the important thing is to make progress so that I am never in this position again. Watch this space!

My Goals:
Short term: I aim to achieve a loss on my monthly measurements.

Medium term: I will aim to start cooking at home and taking more serious regular exercise.

Long term: My overall goal is to reach my goal weight of 161lbs. In doing so, I also hope to drop to a UK size 12 and greatly improve my fitness, possibly even enough to come off my high blood pressure tablets.

My Program:
I am measuring my bust, waist, hips and weight at the end of each month.

On a daily basis, I plan to drink as much water as possible and move as much as possible, as well as eating sensibly.


Personal Information:
I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland with my husband.

I work as a payroll administrator. I hope that 2014 will bring me opportunities to take up relaxing hobbies to help me unwind.

Thank you for your comments on my blog and on my page.

I am happy to be your friend and hope I can offer some encouragement as we struggle through the weight loss and health issues. I have to say that the health and fitness aspect concerns me more than the weight at present. I would like to lose about 2 stone but even more I need to regain my strength and stamina. A short illness seems to knock the stuffing out of me for weeks!

We Yorkshire lasses can combat this and come out fighting fit!

Travel is wonderful, I've always had wanderlust and my Dad used to say I should have been a gypsy! Where are you going on your holidays?
