Finally on my way

I have wanted to lose weight for I don't even know how long, but I am finally dedicated to it. I want to lose weight to be healthy (and look good at the same time). I have some new medical issues that I want to go away, and while they won't disappear, losing weight will make my problems more manageable. Which I want to do, and will do, finally. I am looking for buddies with similar weight loss goals to keep me motivated and on track, but as my name suggests, I am the eternal optimist and will ...

My Goals:
I want to get down to 150 lbs, which is the normal weight range for my height, and will vastly help with my medical issues. To be frank, I want to look hot in a bathing suit, and I want to feel healthy while in said bathing suit.

My Program:
I have lost sight of my goals for a while, but I am going to try this again with new rewards, and hopefully it will work better! :) For every pound I lose, I will put $1 towards a shopping spree. Also for every day that I go to the gym I will put $1 away. When I get to $200, I will go shopping at Urban Outfitters, which just opened in my town. :D By the time I have that much money saved up I will fit better into their clothing (they run very small) so I won't have to worry about things fitting. :D I will keep track of my progress in a journal daily and on my sparkpeople blog online weekly. I am really looking forward to shopping! Also, when I reach my goal of 160 lbs I am going to go on vacation at the beach with one of my best friends. I am hoping to be able to do this by my birthday in December so we can drink!!! (I will be 21 on my next birthday).

First let me say a BIG WAHOOOOOOOO! To everyone who is at least working towards a fitness goal!!! YOU LADIES ROCK!!!!!

Second, I want to apoligize for being such a cuddy leader here this last 2 months!!! With the move and now getting over being sick, I am hopful to get back on track with trying to reach a fitness goal this month! I reallllllly need to get back to taking walks daily in prep for labor with this baby. I am so out of shape AGAIN. I am getting winded just climbing the 1/2 flight of stairs in our house... so December is the month! I am really counting on your ladies to keep me accountible.

I know December is a hard month to stay focused on what we need to be doing, with all the family get togethers, shopping, cooking, parties ect... BUT let's give it a whirl! Remember if you don't have your health, the other parts of your life are going to suffer in a big way! So who is up for the super challenge of staying focused during such a busy month?

I have just made Decembers challenge, hop over and join up.. make a plan for the month.. DON'T forget the mini-rewards! And let's make December spark with our efforts towards a healthier us!

Congrats on all your success! I just read your blog too- I am so glad that you are happy now and can appreciate the blessingsd in your life emoticon

We have a similar start weight (I began at 244 pounds) and I am actually thinking I want to change my goal weight to 150 in case I get injured and cant work out- or get hospitalized- at any rate in case of a majjor issue if I gain 10 pounds I dont want to be over weight again. Healthy for me starts at 167 because I am 5'9.5"

So go girl! So glad you are loving life!
