My journey of weight loss and hopefully keeping it off

As a teenager, I used to brag about my ability to never over eat (read binge) and actually "Not" eat at all when under stress. I was so sure I'll never gain weight or get fat ever.

Ten years later, with stress of a demanding job and married life, One day I woke up with 60 extra pounds and not being able to stop. How did I ballooned up from a 130 lbs to a 190lb? Well through Denial.

My Aha moment came after a humiliating shopping trip, when I couldn't find a fit and ...

My Aha moment came after a humiliating shopping trip, when I couldn't find a fit and then an eye opening weigh in at the gym. The two mighty blows, one after another opened my eyes. As they say it's never too late, I'm glad I chose to do something about it.

It's been a month and so far I've lost 5 lbs. The first two weeks I couldn't see any difference and was loosing faith but by the third week the pounds start to come off and I hope they never stop :)

My Goals:
My short term goals are to loose at least 2 lbs per week for the next 6 months. However I'm hoping that what I take away from the next 6 months is the discipline and a healthy lifestyle that would remain with me for the rest of my life.

My Program:
I try to eat between 1400 to 1500 calories everyday and squeeze in at least 10 minutes of physical activity. I try to take stairs when I can, or get off two stops early from bus and walk. I have also increased consumption of veggies and fruit to restrict my portion size of high calorie food.
