Thanks for asking about how close I was to the hurricane. Yep, we came pretty close, since Pt. O'Conner was first predicted as the place the storm would come in. I have relatives all over the Texas coast. One son is a homicide investigator in Pt. Lavaca, and of course he had to stay there for security/rescue duty. One son evacuated from Texas City and spent 4 tense days before going home and his home was barely touched, even it was just on the edge of one of the most horrendous damage, just across the strip of water from Galveston, 8 blocks from the piers of Texas City!!!! One sister went from her home in Angleton, to stay with her daughter in Houston and was sort of stuck there for 4 days . Timmy still has no power in TxCity, but I think Betty went home today because her grandson told her her power was back on. Timmy went back to work today, so I think things are finally beginning to lighten up here.
How did you fare up there in Austin? Hope everything is fine there. Marie K 2836 days ago
