Hi, I'm Emily.
My biggest challenge is that I work behind a computer 13 hours a day, and that I tend towards stress eating. My days are long, and I am horrible at actually planning meals.

I'm hoping to meet some good people that will help me kick my ass into shape.

Right now, I'm trying to focus on motivating myself to work out, and I am counting calories.

My Goals:
A friend of mine had an interesting idea... take 10% of your current weight, and when you lose that much, you reward yourself. So:

(160 - not 10% yet, but... buy a new scale. Mine is off by at least 5 lbs, and I'd rather know for certain.)

153 lbs: I take myself to a spa, and to do some serious shopping.

138 lbs: Travel overseas (England/Ireland)

125 lbs: More traveling, somewhere even better. Or something equally expensive. *grin*

Ideally, I'd like to be a size 9 or less (i.e. my waist = 29" or less.)

My Program:
Count calories, start stretching and running daily. A lot of yoga/strength training, too. Drink a whole lot of water daily (which is one habit I've already got myself into.)

Personal Information:
I'm from a city about an hour outside Toronto.

Welcome, Emily, to Rookie Running Group. Check out the information thread first and then come visit us on the main monthly thread. You'll find lots of good people here that will help you kick your ass into shape, as you put it. Using SparkPeople will help you plan your meals, but your teammates here and with any other teams you are on will help hold you accountable with your diet and your exercise. They (I among them) will also help encourage you too when you do have those bad days (we all have them). Good luck in your journey.
