Better than Surgery

I started In August @ 350 and was preparing to have bypass surgery to lose the weight. My insurance co required I have 6 months of medical weight supervision and since then I have lost 75 lbs. One of my best friends died during surgery in November and that was my wake up call. Why risk my life under the knife when I could just control my diet and excercise.I have canceled the surgery and decided to do it thru a healthy lifestyle. Never been much of a blogger but I hope to follow my success here ...

Dr Robert Bowen III, Mecklenburg Medical Group - Our family physician who is awesome and restored my faith in not all Drs live for the HMO. He would even call me at home and stop by Hospital(w/o charge) during my wife's illness. He is the one that keep gently pushing to have surgery or do anything other than give up

Six months and you lost another 40 plus pounds!!! Look at you go!
I have not been active on spark but just popped on. I have been just
"maintaining" my 40 pounds from earlier this year. With friends like you on here I might just have to get up and get busy!

Kudos...what an inspiration to your son and trainer. He must be so proud :)

Awesome news about the Bowflex dumbells! How are you enjoying them? I thought Bowflex was an infomercial deal, but I ended up buying a Bowflex Xtreme 2 on craigslist for $500 and it turns out I get just as sore as when I use free weights (the key is that you have to use the machine... which many do not)!

I can't wait to see your progress!
