A new me

2013- I have been on spark two years now, I was a pound away from my goal weight of 135 and than somehow managed to gain 9 pounds and now im at 145. After the initial joy at the loss, the real learning came when I had to figure out how to KEEP it off. I refuse to go backwards so I am moving forward...and this year I WILL get to my goal. And I WILL keep it off. That means no more "relaxing" my good habits, it's a lifestyle change nothing less. I have the tools, I know the what I need to do. I ...

My Goals:
Goals for 2013:

This is the year I turn 40! I want to be my best yet! There is no reason I cannot be my happiest, healthiest self and show that getting older doesn't have to be a scary unhappy event. I want to use this as an opportunity to challenge my self.

I am still shooting for my goal of 135 but along the way I want to FEEL my best, aswell as look it. This means, exercise- even when I don't want to. Eating whole foods. Eating mindfully. Stopping myself BEFORE I reach for the donut and imagining how yucky I'll feel AFTER I eat it. Eating balanced, drinking my Matcha tea, eating my greens and limiting anything processed. Using all the tools I have....

I also want to take better care of myself this year. More. Massages, more spa days. More yoga and stretching. My job wears my body out and I know I need to honor that better. I want to work on ways to get more natural energy and use that to stay clean, tidy and organized so I can keep a sense of calm and not

My Program:
My job hours are so chaotic I cannot make an exact schedule, BUT I can commit to getting to the gym whenever there is a chance. I can commit to walking every day I don't work with my boys. I can commit to doing workouts at home after my kids are asleep. My focus is on Zumba, running, pilates and yoga.

Personal Information:
I am a 39 year old hairdresser living in Oregon. I have been married to my husband for eight years and have two precious boys ages three and five. One way to describe me is I almost never get bored and I find life exciting! I love to read and will research whatever I'm currently interested in
for hours! I am a true "foodie" who enjoys cooking and using food as medicine. I shoot for a diet of whole foods and REAL food. I am interested in traveling, and personal growth of ALL types...constantly looking for easy to be a better me

Cute little boys! Thank you for commenting on my SparkPage, on June 25th! I just saw it! I need to visit my own SparkPage more often! Also, thank you for your understanding, and support. That is what I am doing; just taking baby steps. I want to lose the weight at the same pace that I gained it. And,I would not, as I said in my profile, which steroids on my worst enemy!

What a nice set of pictures!(on you home page) Of your wonderful journeying to the healthy life you are striving for!
emoticon A big emoticon for sharing your journey and your beautiful growing family with us! You are a big inspiration to others that see your Sparkpage as well as your other postings! You are a beautiful person inside and out. It's hard for me to speak up, or to type things out as in a blog or site type setting. I feel that I didn't make sense, but I hope I did!

Hi! Somewhere I read that you made homemade granola? I had a recipe for some a very long time ago from a close friend that is now gone. I have looked and looked, can't find it. I was wondering if you would share yours with me? I would appreciate that a lot.

Thanks for your comment on my blog about the 10 things I hated about being FAT! I am in awe of your accomplishment, because you started at just over my GOAL WEIGHT. You were beautiful before and you are even more beautiful now. It's so nice to hear from someone who was not morbidly obese, but still had compassion for the addiction that curses those of us who were and are that way. So few people have the insight to realize over-eating IS an addiction, especially those of you who are only slightly overweight. Good for you on losing those pounds, I know how hard it is to lose weight when you are not extremely heavy, I've been trying since the first of the year to lose the 10 pounds I gained over the holidays. It's not budging. But I am as determined as you are, WE WILL GET THERE!!!
