Thanks for your comments on my page. I am in this struggle right along with you. I too wish I didn't care so much about food. I KNOW there are people in the world, to whom food is not that important. But to me, food is way too important. I think about breakfast when I get up in the morning, then all day I am anticipating my next meal. If I'm eating a snack, I know how much I have and if I set it aside somewhere and lose track of it, I KNOW I have more to eat and don't rest until I find the rest of it sitting on the kitchen counter or table somewhere. You are so right--none of us are alone in this struggle. I wonder if we should even think of it as deprivation, giving up those treats every day. You know there are movie and TV stars out there, who have to eat wisely every day. Are you like me....do you watch TV shows and see these skinny women eating things that you can't eat and think to yourself, "Bet they don't eat that stuff in REAL life." Because you know in order to maintain their impossibly tiny size, they can't eat anything--hardly! And I bet they don't consider it deprivation. I wonder if we got to that point, where we looked at our way of eating as normal and not as constantly being deprived of this treat or that one, it might get easier? That would be nice.
