Thanks for the comments! Montreal is a nice enough city, but they are doing A LOT of road work, makes it hard for out of towners to figure things out! I had only been there in December and February before, this was a wee bit warmer, but not too much warmer. I did get to look around a bit, but they were having some protests and didn't want to find out how fast I can run ; )
Someday they will send i=me in May or June and I will have some fun, great hiking trails in town at Mount Royal!
Thanks for the comment on my page! I was shocked at that time for 10K too! It was done on my treadmill, so very unofficial. I was not planning to run that far, I had my treadmill set for 6.5mph and 1% incline. I wear a shoe sensor too and it was very close to the treadmill distance, a little over actually. Anyway, I was having fun so I just kept going!
My speeds have increased lately thanks to you and Saharasue! Her blog and your response about slower on the treadmill got to thinking why is that? for me it was partly because I let it be, I had a "comfort" speed and I would just plod along. Yesterday I ran 7K at 7mph with 1 mile at 7.4. I have been increasing my foot strike rate and speed, pushing for a little more each time. Today was going to be a slower relaxing run, until I decided to get the 10K goal taken care of! It will be interesting to see how this translates to the next race! I have lots of business trips coming up and a vacation in February, so the training will drop some. My wife got me running pants for Christmas, so I don't have any excuse not to train outside as well!
