YOU CAN'T OUT EXERCISE A BAD DIET!
Like the old song from my generation, "ain't nothin' gonna keep me down" I've been here before, lost 120lbs before (very unhealthily I might add) meet a wonder guy, had a baby, gained loads of weight, continued to gain loads of weight, got married (lost a bit of weight) and now back to gaining loads of weight since 2007 when I got married. Unfortunately, now my son is 9 and has a hip disease called Legg-Calve-Perthes disease and can't be very active and he's picking up a lot of my and my ...
Like the old song from my generation, "ain't nothin' gonna keep me down" I've been here before, lost 120lbs before (very unhealthily I might add) meet a wonder guy, had a baby, gained loads of weight, continued to gain loads of weight, got married (lost a bit of weight) and now back to gaining loads of weight since 2007 when I got married. Unfortunately, now my son is 9 and has a hip disease called Legg-Calve-Perthes disease and can't be very active and he's picking up a lot of my and my husband's bad eating habits. He's due for surgery soon and once he's into physical therapy mode, I want to be ready for him and I (and his dad) to get back on track and be a healthy, fun, fit and most importantly FUN family! We are a family who loves to laugh, spend time together, with friends, play video games (the boys) watch Real Housewives (me) and just be happy. We don't do drama and we try to teach our boy about being a good person, love everyone equally, protect the weak, be good, learn as much as you can and take an interest in a multitude of things. I'm here to get as much info on here for myself that I can pass along to my family.

My Goals:
I'm trying to focus on 2 days at a time. I tend not to buy groceries for the week but for 2-3 days at a time, so why not change my eating that way? It's easier also for me to think I've only got 2 days of eating healthy as opposed to forever! Ha! Moving more is always a goal as well and I'll be working on doing some yoga with some friends soon!
My Program:
I'm following the Sparkpeople meal plans. Exercise for right now is packing and moving by March 1st (stress counts as an exercise right?) We're also preparing for my 9 year old son's hip surgery April 3rd, so once again...stress stress stress! We've decided to be healthy for him and to give him healthy options would be the best benefit to him!
Other Information:
Maya Angelou is one of my absolute favorite people in the world and I just read this quote by her "If we lose love and self-respect for each other, this is how we finally die" One of my other favorite quotes is by Hunter S. Thompson (crazy bastard) "Buy the ticket, take the ride." And probably the best of all Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!
