Finally getting back in shape.

I always seemed to have an excuse, but now I don't, now I'm ready to move on and loose that extra weight I put on after high school. I'm already on my way.

Goals:
Exercise at least 30 minutes five days a week.
Get the remnants of my soccer thighs down to a manageable size... maybe just get them so they fit in the right size pants.
Control my cravings to eat...
NEVER FEEL ASHAMED WHEN I GET DRESSED EVER AGAIN!

I am an art teacher in Moreno Valley. I have two pound puppies, Orion and Roxy, who are my babies. They are amazing. Orion is a Jack Russel mutt (10yrs old) and Roxy is a Pit mutt( less than 1 year old). But I digress.

I was a soccer play for years, but had to stop playing after a series of dangerous injuries. I would love to start playing again, but i have to get myself back in shape. After I quit playing I started gaining weight. I had been really active; running, lifting nearly daily. Once I had to quit playing I got depressed. I stopped working out, I started gaining weight. At first it was only a few pounds that didn't show. I was loosing my muscles... I went from 120 to 130 before I graduated. 130 to 145 by the time I graduated from college and slowly crept up to 165 this past summer. I couldn't believe it how did I gain 45 pounds? I was out of control. I tried to loose some for my brothers wedding, but I wasn't successful... Finally I went home for the summer and my grandfather took one look at me and said the worst phrase ever... "My god you've gotten fat haven't you?" I almost died. My whole family struggles with weight and diabetes as they get older and I was so sure I would avoid that fate. I decided to change. I made small changes at first, got rid of the stress of roommates and to my surprise I dropped almost 15 pounds by doing nothing! I realized this was only the beginning. I needed to loose those extra pounds. I needed to do it for me. Now it's been about 8 months and I've dropped down to a size 4/6 and I look so much better. I'm still not quite to the weight I want, but I know that will keep coming as i keep working out. I'm at 132 and I'd like to see if I can get down to 125, but I'd be so excited to stay at 130. Almost there, and I can't wait.
