Making It Happen

I am a high-risk nutritionist for WIC, a government nutrition program for women, infants, and children. I know a lot about nutrition and what I should be eating but if it were that simple, all lot more people would be fit and thin. I've been active on spark for about a year now and it has kept me committed and excited about my goals!

I used to LOVE running but got away from it, got married, and gained weight like crazy! I'm getting back into it, having run my first 5K in April ...

I've decided to introduce some mini-rewards to keep me in forward motion:

Out of the 180's: Pedicure (Goal Met 04/11/12)

20lbs Lost: New Purse (Goal Met 04/20/12)

Out of the 170's: New Outfit (Goal Met 05/16/12)

30lbs Lost: Pedicure (Goal Met 05/25/12)

40lbs Lost: New Running Shoes (Goal Met 07/05/12)

10K completed: Slingbacks (Goal Met 04/22/12)

150lbs: Lingerie shopping (the weight I was when I met my husband) (Goal Met sometime in July 2012)

143lbs: New work pants (Goal Met 11/05/12)

142lbs: Fresh flowers for my dining room (Goal Met 1/25/13)

Out of 140's: Pedicure

137lbs: New piece of running clothing

Weight Goal (135 lbs) Hit: New wardrobe!

Half Marathon Completed: Vacation Day from work to do whatever I want... I'm thinking massage! (Goal Met 10/07/12)

Full Marathon Completed: Isn't THIS it's own reward?!

I know what you mean about be excited to run again. Or how running just makes you feel like yourself again! I stopped running for a month and Today was my first day back at the gym and I wanted to started slow and during my walking warm up I just got a bit of a reminder of what that emoticon runner's high felt like and I went for it.. mind you I stopped at a mile 11 mins (gotta start slow... I injured myself by over doing it in the past) but it felt FANTASTIC! emoticon Again congrats on your great news emoticon good luck with your training. Are you doing a full or half? I completed a half marathon back in May it was FUN!
