When I started sparking, I was overweight and had trouble finding time to exercise. I ate what I wanted and it was catching up to me. Sparkpeople helped me learn to eat the right portion of healthy, tasty food. I started running in January of 2011. I slowly added miles, using the 5k plan for running I ran my first 5k in July 2011. I added distance, trying to get faster, until I was doing 6 miles each Saturday. I ran the Day of the Dead 5k in 25 minutes and 26 seconds, my personal best. I've lost 20 lbs, although the last few lbs are off and on. I joined Complete Runner training program in Raleigh and on April 2012 I ran my first half marathon! I think I can say I'm a runner now.

What's next? I'm biking the 24 Hours of Booty in Charlotte on July 26-27th to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation. I'm also running the RockN'Roll Marathon in Savannah on November 3rd.

    oh Fayetteville! Hope you have nice runs over there! Well if you guys want to come over for breakfast before the race (and calavera makeup?), we are thinking 6.30am (race is at 8am) so we have time for everything. We are riding our bikes downtown so Emerson and I need to leave at 7.30. Let me know if you guys are in and if not I will see you at the race! I found you on FB and added you (hope you don't mind) I am creating an event with our address there ;)

    Ok so I am bugging you again because I forgot to ask if you wanted to join on a 3mile or a 5 mile run on Wednesday at 6, downtown. Dos Taquitos Centro (also hosts for the 5K on Saturday) have weekly runs (like the Nog run on Mondays) and after the run there are $5 margaritas and $5 taco bar, although you don't have to eat. We did it a couple of weeks ago and are planning on going this Wednesday as well... wanna join? :D

    Hey girl! How is it going? What were you up to last weekend?
    Did you decide about being a dead runner with me? :D Emerson is running it too, and a neighbor and possible 2 other friends... so we are thinking of a breakfast and makeup party the morning of the race if you and Ian want in :) and he doesn't have to run he can just join us, my neighbor's husband isn't running he is just documenting the event LOL.
