It's about time :)

Hi, I'm a PT from NY with a lot of pounds to lose. I've done SparkPeople in the past with good results, goodness knows why I stopped other than the obvious of stress finishing school, moving, etc. I think I'm finally ready to recommit to a healthy lifestyle. I need to get down to a healthier weight before I'd feel right thinking about having kids and I know I want to be living a healthier lifestyle if I'm raising a family. Weight loss is just one of the many areas I'm working to "grow up" ...

My Goals:
Complete BLC Summer Challenge and get down to 212 by mid-august.

Set a date for skydiving after I get under 200!

Comfortably fit into a regular 16 so I can stop shopping in the Women's section

Lose at least 50 pounds by May, 2012 (be 175 pounds or less)

Regularly exercise and continue to eat well long-term

My Program:
1800-2000 calories/day of mostly healthy foods

1500 calories/week of exercise

4 days/week of strength training (2 legs, 2 arms)

Get involved in SparkPeople challenges and community events, like 5ks and fundraising walks for extra motivation

Other Information:
I am absolutely in love with Dar Williams (at least her music) and getting more into modern folk music. I love to read, especially sci-fi (Orson Scott Card, Heinlein) and journal articles (because I'm a dork!)

How was your break? How did you get into running? I like sprinting but can't stand to run for long periods of time.

Sorry for elongated response time. My grandfather had to be moved to a nursing home due to his progressing illness which took about a week of my free time to make sure he was secure and safe. And then I forgot my password due to changing it while being so stressed.. lol. Good news, I could reset it.

There has been some action on the APO page! :) I'd love to do some group activity for August so I'm planning some things now. Keep checking the page out.

G'Day Danielle. I am coming over to the States to meet my Spark Friends. I'll be in NYC from 24th August for 6 days. I am meeting 4-5 friends already, so maybe we too can get together.

That is my goal this year - to do an official 5k from April until Oct. Actually working towards a 10k in Oct. Jul and Aug will be 5k as part of triathlons.... It is fun to do different runs - some well organized some not so much. Nice way to support various different nonprofits as well.
