After almost a year of being on SP & not much success(b/c I was doing it half @SS), I'm re-committing myself to eating healthier and moving more. In addition, I'm hoping to find ways to re-connect w/friends and loved ones that don't involve food all of time as well as spending more time on hobbies and relaxing, while looking for a job and gearing up for a move in 2 mos. Happy Holidays!

My Goals:
SparkPeople's 5K Your Way Walk/Jog Training Program (this is my 2nd time doing it). The first one was last yr. My hubby & I are training to run a Turkey Trot hopefully w/our pup if we do a dog friendly one. :)

I wish it was me having the surgery, but it was my 4 year old baby girl. She I doing pretty good, but I'm watching very close.

My "program" if you will, is to journal, stay between 1500-1800 calories, drink water,take my mess, and keep beating my old streaks! (that way, when I fall, I don't fail, I just have a new goal!)

It's a 10 Day eating plan. A book written by TV fitness guru Jackie Warner - Lose 10 Pounds in 10 Days. It's pretty restrictive (1000 cals) - but only for 10 days - then it moves to Phase 2 (1250 cals) and Phase 3 (1500 cals). You eat the same thing each day for 10 days and voila you lose 10 pounds! (I hope!)

I gained 5 pounds in June from my family being here and just generally bad eating (and drinking - damn merlot always finds my glass) habits emoticon emoticon

The 5K was really challenging - it was the hardest one I've done so far. My time was 36:11 a PR (personal record) for me, but I had been hoping for under 35 minutes. There were 1500 runners (the body heat and crowding was an issue), it was 90 degrees and very very humid . It all combined to seriously affect my performance. Still, I finished (with a PR) so I'm not too upset. I will be training indoors for the next several months though.

Your job sounds great - perfect for you. I love that you can do it from home, that really saves you time and money (and you can keep up with household chores at the same time) Win-Win !

I totally understand how you felt when your friends left ... our family was here for 7 days and we were super busy the whole time. I was exhausted when they all left - heartbroken, but exhausted!

I will try to get some pictures posted soon. The 5 grandsons are growing like crazy and just too cute for words.

Everything is GREAT ! So many people commented on my 5K results that I wanted to acknowledge - one of my teams even started a thread of congratulations for me ! I just love SP and all my SP Friends. Thanks for your concern.

Hope all is well with you. Did you have a good 4th? How is Trixie doing ?
