I am in my mid thirties and I have been overweight all of my life. I have tried every diet and several diet pills under the sun. I've attempted to lose weight the healthy way and the un-healthy way but have never made it to my goal. At 5'6 and 213 lbs, I'm tired of the up and down cycle. I am finally ready to do this! I joined Sparkpeople in April of 2008, but It wasn't until February of 2009 that I decided to really let Sparkpeople help me. I have confidence that with the help of sparkpeople and my own determination, this time is for keeps!

It takes a lot to keep starting over but everytime I do, I believe I will succeed. This time I will succeed. "Faith without works is dead", so now let's put my faith in action and get rid of this weight.

As of April 2009 I have only lost 6 lbs. My weight loss is slow but I'm working to build consistency so that this time I wont have to start over. I am losing about 2.5 pounds a month. If I don't step my game up, I won't have the body I want this year but I won't be terribly dissappointed because it's better to see consistent results than to have set backs. At the rate I am going I will lose 28 pounds in a year which is better than I've done inthe past. I'm not using pills or trying any crazy diets. I am doing this on my own. But I'm not alone! I have the support of my Spark friends, so instead of starting off too ambitious, I am going to post feasible weight lost goals for the rest of the year.

My Goals:
#1. Get to the point of drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day.

#2. Eat more fruits and vegetables to curb my appetitie. Get to the point where I'd rather eat healthy than eat junk.

#3. Be active-walk at least 4 times a week for 40 min. Build up to 5 days a week at 60 min.

#4. Get to my goal weight of 150 lbs and settle there. Be able to maintain.

My Program:
I hate to take pills but I take a multi vitamin daily.

I am limiting my sugar. I don't like sugar subtitutes so if I'm eating or drinking sugar/fructose, it better be worth it.

I'm getting 3 of the 8 glasses of water a day. Some days I'm on it but my weekends tend to be inconsistent.

I am walking 2 out of 4 days a week for the 40min.

    Hi we are lucky today, saw you online. I am in this group it is very active you can try it if you wish..it is mostly about strength training..you can do whatever you like check it out.
