Emy's Journey of Weightloss

I recently graduated college and started work in the "real world". I successfully lost over 20 pounds, but gained back around 10 of those after going from being able to work out almost anytime and only feeding myself, to working a desk job, having to fit in workouts, and cooking meals for my boyfriend as well.

My senior year of college I raced collegiate for cycling. I've also completed two sprint triathlons, and placed 11th in the collegiate women's category for my first sprint ...

My senior year of college I raced collegiate for cycling. I've also completed two sprint triathlons, and placed 11th in the collegiate women's category for my first sprint triathlon, and 8th in my division (20-24) in my first non-pool swim tri. I'm currently training for my next goal of a half marathon.

Right now my goals are based on a sticker chart on my calender. I give myself stickers for days that I stay within my calorie range and exercise. I'm going to give myself rewards for 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, etc.

New Rewards reached:
10 stickers - manicure/pedicure
25 stickers - new shoes
50 stickers - facial

Upcoming Rewards:
75 stickers - massage
100 stickers

Original Rewards reached:
25 stickers - manicure
50 stickers - 2 new pairs of lucky jeans
75 stickers - new tops from abercrombie
100 stickers - tanning package
15 pounds - all new workout clothes and shoes

Fitness goals:
Compete in a cycling race - completed 2/2/08
Reward - Rudy project glasses
Do a sprint triathlon - completed 3/2/08
Run a half marathon - scheduled 11/30
Do an olympic distance triathlon

Hi!

I love your stickers/reward system! Like so many others before me, I think I'd like to try that particular method.

You look amazing...it certainly doesn't seem as if you have that much further to go...your pictures are phenomenal! To have youth, college, and so many opportunities at your disposal...go get 'em. :) Take full advantage. Best wishes, and all the best for a healthier and positive 2008!

Hi!
I'm sure you've heard this a bunch, but I love the sticker/goal idea and am totally going to use it too! Congrats on your success so far. Question for you...How do you balance out all your athletics with your diet? I love working out too, but find that I don't adjust my calories right for my activity level. I get a few days of great work outs, but then find myself too hungry and tired because I eat the same as when I'm not working out. Does that ever happen to you? I thought since you are really athletic you might have some advice...
Keep up the awesome work!
