I've needed to lose weight since I graduated college in 2004. I finished my master's degree in 2008, and I weighed 75 pounds more than I did when I finished high school. I was borderline overweight back then; I am much more so now. I'm scared of failing. I know I need to change my lifestyle, but I'm afraid of not meeting even manageable goals.

However, I've been on SparkPeople consistenly since mid-June (2011), and I'm seeing changes. I'm meeting small goals (drink 8 glasses of water a day; log all food every day- those kinds of things), which makes me feel like maybe I can do this after all. Maybe I AM growing stronger. Maybe I AM getting to a place where I am comfortable with who I am.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to practice living a healthy lifestyle. My individual goals include weight loss (of approximately 110 lbs), commitment to daily exercise, and identifying the emotional underpinnings of the weight gain.

Mini Weight Loss Goals:
225 (loss of 10, weight when I graduated in 2008): 07/24/2011
221 (loss of 10 since start of Summer Challenge): 08/07/2011
215 (loss of 20): 10/24/2011
200 (loss of 35):
185 (loss of 50; weight when I graduated in 2004):
174 (loss of 61; no longer obese):
155 (loss of 80; weight when I graduated high school in 2000):
145 (loss of 90; no longer overweight):

My "this will never happen" goal is 125. I'm not sure if my frame would allow that weight- honestly, I haven't been that light since junior high. I would be so happy with maintaining 135-140. We'll see what happens when I get closer!

My Program:
I'm officially beginning to manage my nutrition on 06/06/2011. "Manage my nutrition" means watching what I eat, how much I eat, and when I eat.

My fitness goals began on 06/21/2011. These goals include cardio at least three times a week (hopefully five times, but it depends on the work schedule) and strength training three times a week.
