Jennifer's Journey
Update: Aug 2010 It's been awhile since I've really utilized Spark. I've been here, just not "here". I successfully dropped about 40lbs back in the first days of spark, lost my way and gained it all back. I'm an emotional eater and it seems I gain weight just by looking at a brownie. Not a good combination. I've been using spark again recently especially for the exercise portion, but need to start tracking again. I seriously started trying to lose wt. in June of 2009. As of June 2010 I had lost 30lbs, but I've been stalled out since about December of 2009. Changing up my exercise didn't seem to help. So, I've got to start tracking. I've had several life changes along the way. Went back to school, got my degree, started a new job in March of 2010 after being a SAHM for about 11 years. I've been diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney disease - probably needing a kidney transplant at some point in my life. This is probably the kick in the butt I needed, I need to be in the best shape possible when that happens. I'm working on a new routine - so check back soon - I hope to be updating this a little more often. :) ________________________________________ __________ I've been up, I've been down, I've been up, I've been down - I want to stay down! I've been overweight most of my adult life - in fact, all of it. Looking back, I was "normal" in high school, but would have never known by the other kids. I have a lot to loose, and my goal of 170 is just a "pausing" point. I remember being there once and feeling pretty good - so I want to be there again and I will probably set a new goal at that point. If I look at the big picture, I get discouraged, so I look at this 10 lbs at a time. Two years ago we took a trip to Montana - I so enjoyed the hiking we did - but know I will enjoy it so much more 100lbs lighter! My kids, my husband, my family - they're my inspiration and my support. My pastor recently coined the phrase "Holy Determination", (she's facing some challenges in her life as well). With God's help, I ask Him to fill me with Holy Determination each and every day! Thank you Pastor Paula! Drop me a line - I'd love to hear from fellow Sparkers!
