There's something amazing about completing a race. Makes you feel accomplished.. like you are on top of the world! Sign up for one, you'll LOVE IT!!!!
The 10k that we did was very empowering for me. It was for the "rock N Sole" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.. They ran out of water for the runners, it turned out to have a negative impact on them, but I made it, even though people were passing out on the bridge we were running across! 50 people were treated for heat problems, and 15 were hospitalized. It just made that race even more special for me, because I survived! :)

I'd like to be a Spark Friend. I have a Treadmill and No Excuses NOT to Love It. Thanks for the upbeat message that running is fun. We have the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race every 4th of July. I did it in 1996 with another friend. Not planning on it again, but 30 mins of Treadmill Time at least 5 times a wk is what I should be doing.. Karen emoticon

Hey there! Saw you're reading Born to Run. I'm in the middle of reading it as well and it's totally giving me the running itch. I haven't actually started running at all, but it's working its magic on me. :) I hope you enjoy the barefoot running!
