Only I have the power to change myself.

I've always operated under the misconception that lifestyle changes were easy things... I would just change when I felt like it. Now I know it takes true dedication and commitment. Every day is a challenge. Every day I need a reminder to stick to my goals, to work out harder, to eat healthy, and to make choices like I mean it.

My Goals:
1. Be happy with my body
2. Lose at least 80 pounds- eventual goal weight 150 pounds
3. Reach 6000 Fitness minutes
4. Eliminate my food addictions and binges.
5. Take a trip to New York

My Strategies for these goals:
1. Take pride in how I look. No more "not caring." Dress in nicer clothes but still appropriate to my curves.
2. Log into SP every day to log fitness and calories. Stay within calorie range and meet daily fitness goals.
3. Work exercise into my daily and weekly routine
4. Avoid trigger foods like the plague- grain based carbs, chips, tortillas, bread, cookies, cake, french fries.
5. Save money each month for travel goals

My Program:
I can't moderate, so I just say "NO" to certain things and go from there.
NO: bread, rice, pasta, flour, tortillas, cookies, cake, brownies, sugar, corn, dairy, meat, poultry
YES: fresh fruit, fresh veggies, eggs, fish, shrimp, beans, soy, nuts, etc, etc.
I have become a creative cook!
Other than that, I'm watching my carb count and trying to stay away from anything processed. I use the calorie tracker every day to keep myself on-program... it's the only thing that has worked for me so far!

Personal Information:
I live in Seattle, a very active city, and I want to be able to take a walk in the sand in shorts and a tank top without feeling self conscious. I already feel so much better about myself since starting this weight loss journey... I am now trying to keep up the momentum and get to my goal.

Other Information:
In the past, a list like the one below helped me to reach and recognize benchmarks in my journey.

I saw that you're looking for veggie recipes. Have you ever heard of a Nutribullet? I bought one a couple of months ago and LOVE it! You basically make a smoothie with any kind of combination you want, but it's suggested that you start out with a base of spinach (love it!), then add your veggies/fruits. My favorite combination right now is: spinach, 1 carrot, 1 apple, 1 banana, 1/2 beet (yes, beet!), maca powder, flaxseed, and water. Whip it up and drink it down. All of those nutrients! Just think! Youtube it. emoticon

How are you doing, sweetie! Haven't heard from you for the last couple of weeks to wanted to check in with you. I got out for a jog yesterday. It was SWEET! About 70 degrees and literally no wind! Today I'm transferring data from the old computer to the new computer and reinstalling programs. Not so much fun.... Let me know how you're doing!
