Hi there, my name is Emily and I am currently going to school in a different city than where I am from. Unfortunatly I have gained the freshman 15 and then some! I am in the RN program and want to lose weight before I start my clinical placement in September. All I can hear in my head is my professor saying "If you're going to be a nurse, you're going to be a role model. You can't be a smoker and then tell someone they have to quit smoking. You can't be overweight and try go give someone advice ...

I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I have wasted lots of money on trainers and gyms, nothing seems to be working out for me so now I am trying a cheaper method by using SparkPeople. It seems like a great site, and I am sure it will be very beneificial during my weight loss journey.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose about 40 pounds before January 1st. This is becuase I wanna finally make a New year's resolution that has nothing to do with eating or exercise!!

My Program:
Right now while I am still in school is to get up in the morning and eat a healthy breakfast, tidy my room then go for a walk somewhere new. (Min. 30min). For the rest of my days I will eat healthy and try to plan meals out before so that way I don't go over, and try not to be such a couch potato.
Starting May 1st, when I', back at home. I will go on the treadmill every morning (if work doesn't interfere) and go on for an hour. My goal is to be able to jog for an hour straight with maybe a few, speed walking sessions between to catch my breath. Right now I can only jog for about 5 min. straight. So I have 4 months to improve that. I also want to do hot yoga once a week. :) Hopefully this will help with my weight loss.
