I just want to do this....

Hello!! I'm Emily! I'm 25 years old and I have to lose at least 70 lbs (true goal of 85 lbs). I had previous wrote that it seemed impossible and I was quite pessimistic about it. BUT that has all changed! This site has amazingly motivated me and helped me begin my journey!!

Hello!! I'm Emily! I'm 25 years old and I have to lose at least 70 lbs (true goal of 85 lbs). I had previous wrote that it seemed impossible and I was quite pessimistic about it. BUT that has all changed! This site has amazingly motivated me and helped me begin my journey!!

Through this I have learned I hate "exercise" and can find any excuse in the world not to do it. I need to do things that are productive; therefore, my exercise tends to be housecleaning, gardening, yard-work, construction......anything that gets things done!! I sometimes walk my dog, but honestly put that off more than I should. (Update: As of Jan 2011, I purchased an exercise bike and do as much time on it as possible. It's my first real exercise since starting Spark, and is doing the body good!)

From April - Mid-September of 2010 I stopped tracking b/c "I could do it without". I gained 17 pounds back. I can't do this alone. So, I am back here on spark....tracking every "B.L.T." (Bite. Lick. Taste.) as my friend, Nicole called it.

Josh (my husband!!) is eating healthy and counting calories at every meal with me again. He wants to be healthier too and enjoys our better meals, but doesn't want to put much more effort in than that....for now. *Update: he has confessed he loves our new healthy lifestyle and is proud for all of the changes he has made!*

February 2008 Josh and I stopped eating fast food!! Go us!

I'm on the right track! I just have to stick with it to my goal! Go me! Go SparkPeople!!

Update March 2012: Gained all but 3 lbs back (weighing in at 222). I'm back and feeling even worse than I did at my highest weight. I can't start at square one again, it's so hard. But, here I go...
Update March 2013....this is getting old. Still over 200 lbs. I have *GOT* to do something :(

Awe, it's okay, I've been having an all over the place week myself...lotsa stuff going on...I did a lot of moving, went through a horrible relationship or two....did some more moving and completely moved away from the city I grew up in and then I was sick a lot so I ended up gaining all the weight back grom being depressed, struggling with all my problems and being sick so it was really just a nasty combination of everything so I entirely get where you're coming from. My new home though in a new city has been a completely positive change for the better. It has had a very positive impact and it's helping me to feel better about myself and get my life back on track again. Since I started I've been losing two pounds per week....but you always lose the most weight at the start & it starts to slow down a lot once you get closer and closer to your goal weight.

With some hard work, dedication and a little inspiration I think we'll be back on track in no time! It's nice to talk to you again, I'll be sparking pretty much daily, so I'll be around to talk if you ever need to. =)

Hello! Long time no see! I just returned to sparkpeople because I set my mind to getting fit again...the past two years have been utter chaos and I gained back almost all the weight I lost as well and I've read on your page that it seems you've had the same thing happen...Hopefully we can help each other get back there! If we did it once, we can do it again!

Sincerely,
Ara emoticon

Emily,

The Christmas holiday was nice, but as usual I'm going through a little bit of the after holiday blues - not sure why this happens, but it does! Our weather is grey and rainy today, which is not helping at all. Like you, I enjoyed plenty of Christmas goodies and have been relieved not to see my weight jump up. At the end of BLC23, I had gained 8 pounds from my starting weight and I have maintained at that 8 pound gain through the holidays.

I have been slowing down with the goodies over the past few days and working on getting back on track. I will be getting on a plane to go to a conference on January 2 and want to fit in my seat without much discomfort. So there is my current motivation!

Did you sign up for BLC24? I am presently at 228 pounds and would love to be hovering around or below 200 by May. So I am really going to try to push myself to get focused again!

Love Ya!
Gail
