I'm a 41-year old father of three, and I started with SP August 2009 because I needed help getting my weight under control. I reached my goal weight of 155 pounds (a loss of 122 pounds) in late 2010, and am working on maintaining in the 155-160 pound range. I'm a 41-year old father of three, and I started with SP August 2009 because I needed help getting my weight under control. I reached my goal weight of 155 pounds (a loss of 122 pounds) in late 2010, and am working on maintaining in the 155-160 pound range. I have the support of my kids and my wonderful wife, L3DESIGNS, who is my inspiration and who started on her SparkPeople journey seven months before I did and is getting ever closer to her goal weight. When I started I used the stationary bike, then started walking, and then started running. I've completed a 5K, a 10K, and a Half Marathon, and my wife has also run her first. My second Half was the Disney Princess Half at Disneyworld (Florida) in February 2011, however I walked it due to a stress fracture. My Program:
The boring stuff: diet & exercise. I track everything. I started out walking, graduated to running, completed one Half Marathon, walked a second due to injury, then ran my third. I've started (and stopped) Insanity four times now, but in each case running took over... Apparently I can be somewhat of a Cardio junkie!
Personal Information:
40, married for 13 years, with one son (10), two daughters (8 & 5). I'm an Electrical Engineer doing IC design, and live in Coquitlam, BC, Canada.
Other Information:
Engineering is the art of optimization, trading off a number of different costs to come up with the best solution. Never forget that your time has a cost.
