It's Only Me!

Hi, I was thin once and have let myself go. At one point my weight was 287 lbs. I've tried all kinds of diets only to lose and then gain it back and more. I've changed my attitude about losing weight; and instead of losing to look good, I am going to lose weight to be healthy and will start by making healthy choices.

I want to be able to do the things I use to when I was thin. Now that I have retired, I cannot use stress as a reason for my weight.

My Goals:
I want to lose 10 lbs a month. I also want to start exercising. I want to start drinking more water and get off diet coke.

My Program:
So far I have tried to make healthy choices. Putting my calories in for the day, helps to make me accountable to myself. I am now going to the gym 5 days a week

Personal Information:
My name is Betty and I live in central New York and just retired from Federal service. I love flowers and have several flower beds. However, I am a lazy gardener. I guess my theory is that if it grows outside, then God will take care of it for me. I put the mulch down and do fertilze, but sometimes I forget to water them.

I have 4 grown children and 8 grandchildren.

My hobby is genealogy and now that I am no longer working, I plan on spending a lot more time at it.

I love everything that looks Victorian. Mauve is my favorite color

You can do it too! Keep with the program and you will have it easy.
Maybe in October the humidity won't be so high!

I am really doing great now. I went to the doctor's yesterday and I only weighed 1.2 lbs more than my scale and it was 2:30 p.m. I used to see a 4 to 5 lbs difference from my morning weight. I'm back down to my lowest weight of 210.8.

I am really watching my salt intake and my calories as I have set a new goal for myself. I want to lose 30 lbs by October 29, 2009 which is when I am taking my grandchildren to Disney World in Florida. I have increased my exercise by at least 20 minutes and plan on being able to walk 4 miles a day by the end of August 2009. emoticon
