Progress, not perfection.
After losing many pounds and nearly achieving my goal weight, we moved abroad where my visa status did not let me work, and I also had my third child. The combination of unemployment, third pregnancy, and overindulging in European food to quell my feelings of inadequacy took me back to my pre-weight-loss weight and killed my self-confidence (to say nothing of my wardrobe!). After losing many pounds and nearly achieving my goal weight, we moved abroad where my visa status did not let me work, and I also had my third child. The combination of unemployment, third pregnancy, and overindulging in European food to quell my feelings of inadequacy took me back to my pre-weight-loss weight and killed my self-confidence (to say nothing of my wardrobe!). Moving nine timezones away to another new place took away all my friends and stability, so this is my attempt at consistency and change. I started my efforts in September, 2011 and have since given new meaning to "the slowest loser," but I realized after almost exactly six months I've lost 15 pounds which is more than I thought I would be able to stick with in September! After several months of consistent exercise I'm also more fit than my husband for the first time in our marriage - yeehaw! My current goal is to lose 20 more pounds in time for my 20th (gah!) reunion next summer.

My Program:
September 2011 Small goals to start: Tracking my calories, ten minutes of exercise per day. February 2012 7000 steps or more per day five days a week, 45 minutes of cardio at least 2 days a week, at least 10 minutes of cardio EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Married, kids, working, trying to carve out a new life in a new place for the second time in four years and juggle all that goes into working motherhood.
