Maintaining a new-found healthy lifestyle.

Hi! I'm Jenn and I live in the Dallas, Texas area with my husband and 5-year-old daughter.

I used to be resentful that some people could eat whatever they want and not gain weight. Why not me? I now realize that just because you CAN eat whatever you want and not gain weight doesn't mean that you SHOULD.

UPDATE - January 2011 - well, I guess I am human. I've slipped quite far in this journey, and feel like I am back to square one. Hopefully I can get back the motivation I once had to eat and be healthy!

My Goals:
My main goal is to learn to eat and use food for the purpose for which it is intended -- to fuel my body! No more reaching for food as a substitute for anything.

Short-term goal and reward: getting down to 130 pounds. I'm hoping this will be my upper limit going forward. And when I finally see that 130 on the scale, I'm finally going to get those 7 jeans!

I also want to build muscle tone to stave off osteoperosis, which runs in my family.

Finally, I love how much energy I have when exercising regularly, so I want to remember and crave that feeling for the rest of my life.

Halloween Goals:

BREAK THROUGH THIS PLATEAU!!

Rededicate myself to eating better and exercising, even lightly, every day.

My Program:
Modified Strength Training twice a week.

HIIT training once a week.

Light Cardio in the mornings 3 days a week.

Trying to keep carbs fewer than 100 grams per day, and eating starchy carbs at only one meal. I'm also trying to keep my fat intake at around 30% of my calories, with less than 20 g of saturated fat a day. The remaining calories are all protein!

Other Information:
My favorite, favorite band is Barenaked Ladies.

I hope to someday write books that children and young adults will choose to read.

I try to check once a week. I need to be better about that. I'm ready to be done with this push at work. A month of 50 hour weeks is killing me!

Thanks for the comment!

I couldnt go on Sunday cause my husband had to work and I was home with the baby BUT I called and booked a rental for tomorrow! I am going at 10am (nothing will stop me....except extreme weather since I am in Canada, lol).

I will write about it for sure. I am excited to feel good about it after. :)

Thanks for your comment on my page. My boys were super excited that Mommy agreed to be princess Leia (they wanted Padme but I couldn't do the skin tight white jumpsuit!!!)
