    I saw your post on the Virtual Weigh-in team, read that you use a pedometer and thought I'd drop you a line. I'm losing weight by tracking everything and walking. Wear the pedometer every day, from morning to night. If you google 'walk away the pounds 3 miles', chose the video where the team are wearing wide waistbands with stretchers attached, put the link in your browser and do some of the steps whenever you have spare time. I do them while waiting for the kettle to boil, the microwave to ping, any spare minute. Wear the pedometer for a few days to see how many steps you are walking, then each week add another 500 steps until you reach a point that suits you. Don't overdo it. Stop if you feel an ache or discomfort.
    To give an idea, my 3 mile walk, done in stages throughout the day, is 8000 steps and burns just 333 calories. So you need to stay within your calorie range to lose weight. If you need expert advice on this, post your query to the Message Boards and a coach will reply.
    Don't be scared of taking that first step, Elise. Lots of us were lazy couch potatoes before coming on SP so we began with baby steps. Since you are about to lose your pregnancy weight, why not join a team for young mothers. I'll try to find a link to them for you.

    I saw your post on the "Best way to use sparkpeople" board. I wanted to say hello and remind you that you're not alone! I have trouble staying motivated too a lot of the time. Just keep logging in every day! Hopefully something will catch your eye and motivate you! Even if its just something as small as going for a short walk, drinking a glass of water, or doing 10 squats each day! emoticon

    Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

    1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

    2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

    The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

    Hi there! So glad you joined. I got back on for the second time last year and finally met my goal weight.

    Reading blogs and joining challenges have really helped me stay focused. Now I am in maintenance so I'm staying active on the site to help me maintain my healthy habits for life.
