This picture was taken on 11/14/09, at 203 lbs. I am 39 lbs less than my "before" pic! No I don't have a funny-shaped elbow, there's a blue balloon behind me that is the same color as my shirt. Ha ha. :)

I am a 30-year-old mother of 4. I've struggled with my weight all my life, and about 7-8 years ago I lost 40 lbs and reached a weight of 133, and was able to maintain that for about a year before I got out of the habit of exercising, and my weight slowly started increasing after that. After the birth of my 4th child last July, I got a Mirena IUD, which caused a myriad of side effects, including a weight gain of over 40 lbs. I had it removed in May, and I am now 85 lbs overweight!! the source of some of the information I posted on my blog Addicted to Food- comes from Dr. Neal Barnard's book entitled, Breaking The Food Seduction. a light went off, when I read this book emoticon

there is much more research being done and lot more being written now about the bodies reaction to the chemicals in foods. Another resource for healthy eatings which I find very beneficial is George Mateljan's, the World's Healthiest Foods.
