This picture was taken on 11/14/09, at 203 lbs. I am 39 lbs less than my "before" pic! No I don't have a funny-shaped elbow, there's a blue balloon behind me that is the same color as my shirt. Ha ha. :)

I am a 30-year-old mother of 4. I've struggled with my weight all my life, and about 7-8 years ago I lost 40 lbs and reached a weight of 133, and was able to maintain that for about a year before I got out of the habit of exercising, and my weight slowly started increasing after that. Hi! I happen to see your post on the fitness community board about running. I would think that you are doing a great job. But I thought I would let you know that Prevention Magazine staff have published a book, "Walk Your Butt Off!"

It is a 3-month, (12 weeks program), that is an excellent program that gets you walking and builds you up and it's been tested on actual people who have lost inches and some weight and better yet, some of them are walking faster than the runners.

I am thinking it might be easier for you to go this route rather than be frustrated.

I think it's something that you should check into. I don't have the book but I did read most of it at Barnes & Noble and hopefully will purchase it soon.

My husband, (who recently passed away from a 6-year battle with cancer), ran 2 Boston marathons, plus 10 other marathons, and numerous races during the 6 years battle with cancer. He had all sorts of books and magazines not to mention the medals! Whoa!!!!

Anyway, I guess what I am telling you, from all that I have learn from my husband about running, this particular book would suite you very well and give you the encouragement and support that you need. It is an excellent book. So check it out and see if it's something you could do.
