December 2013 - winter running in Canada
I'm 40 this year and 4 years into living my best life. I've lost over 40 pounds since 2007 and I will be losing 30 more pounds to reach my goal weight. All three of my girls are finally in school so life is finding routine. I work full-time and love to run on my lunch breaks. I bike commute to work during the warm seasons but I live in Canada so winter tends to drag on. The best way that I stay fit is to train for trail races or half-marathons. I've run one marathon, which was life altering, and maybe when my girls are old enough to train with me, I'll run my 2nd. Until then, I'm living the life I love every day and staying focused on my goals.

Hi There! Thanks for the comment on my sparkpage. I know I bit off more than I can chew with the 1/2 in Vegas. I'm hoping that by the time the Edmonton marathon comes around next year, I'll be able to actually run the half in my own city. I knew I wouldn't be able to be ready for Edmonton this year. I have always known I'd be walking most of my first half, but I'm ok with that. I just want to finish.

Hi, Thank you for your advice on my leg hurting so much. I just got home from being on a 3 day trip with family tonight. I need to have it checked to make sure cause it is still bugging me some when I run. I ran 7 miles Friday and alittle sore but also did alot of walking etc all day with fam. I ran in unfamiler area and alot more of trails also. I enjoyed that run alot though. Its different for me and I wish I had more area like that to run. I think I do need to go to yoga regularly and stretch more. I walk and stretch some before and after but maybe I need more and will try that. Thank you again for the help!! I didn't think I would like running so I didn't reserach to much about it and now im behind on things I should know. All so new, need to start from the beginning and learn.

Thank you for your comment on my running blog. I've never heard of him so I will definitely check it out. I can run up to 45 mins straight, but it's definitely a slow run. I did take a few walk intervals on my run tonight and I was really amazed at how much stronger I felt at the end of my run with just those brief recovery periods. Congrats on the marathons!! How exciting! I would love to be able to do that someday!

Thank you for stopping by my page and giving me some good luck for tomorrow's run! My run tomorrow won't start til 7 pm since I am a night owl! So the steak won't bug me a bit. Plus I grew up on steak a lot! I ate 3 lbs of steak in one meal when I was a teenager :') So I have taught my body how to handle it!! I will certainly blog about my run tomorrow night, but it will be late I am sure! But thank you for your note again!
