I joined SparkPeople in April 2007. I met that goal in August 2007, then gained and lost it again, like, twice.

About me: I'm 29, work as a web developer at a small ad agencey, and live with my fiance, who I've been with for 10 years, and our two cats.

My favorite sport is martial arts; I used to do Choy Li Fut kung fu, but currently do mixed martial arts (tae kwon do, muay thai, Gracie jiu jitsu and boxing). I also have a love-hate relationship with running. I used to have knee problems, but after practicing Chi Running for about nine months, my knees have never been better.

January 2012: After flirting with the Primal Blueprint diet last fall, I'm back on board, and this time the fiance is doing it with me! This is definitely a way of eating that makes me feel better, and it's supporting my active lifestyle, plus helping me lose a little bit of weight and build muscle. It's worth it despite all the cooking that goes into it -- but, it is nice to finally know how to manage my own kitchen, haha. More info at www.marksdailyapple.com and www.westonaprice.org

My Program:
Fitness: Mixed martial arts, like, ALL the freaking time. Plus cardio kickboxing and resistance classes in the morning, and a couple 5Ks a year.

Nutrition: Mashup of the recommendations from the Primal Blueprint and the Weston A. Price Foundation.

    You're welcome! Hope it helps! : ) Yes, restructuring is defintiely a great benefit, but you also have to take it at your own pace and work withing what you CAN do, because not all things are immediately changeable; jobs, kids, sickly pets, etc. Best of luck w/ everything!!! Oh, and I'm not doing Rock-N-River, either. emoticon Didn't get to training in time, and my knee is giving me problems. Yoga and circuits are going great, though!

    I know what you mean about getting back to whole foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains). I made a killer quinoa lasagna last night using whole grain (quinoa), zucchini strips instead of lasagna noodles (veggies), a can of tomatoes and a bunch of fat free cheese. It helps me to think about recipes that are super tasty but that are whole grain and fruit/veggie centric. Do you have recipes like that? (Smoothies are great, too, like a half a frozen banana, frozen strawberries, unsweetened cocoa, coconut extract and some splenda or truvia or agave nectar. Chocolate strawberry smoothie!)
