I want to get past time and financial constraints that have de-motivated serious progress to improve my health.

4/17/13 UPDATE: I'm still working on this goal, but I have made progress and feel less swamped about actually doing what I know to do. I have definitely found motivation to keep at the project. My Goals:
I'd like to make changes that last.

I need to find workable foods that fit in with my family's food allergy needs.

My Program:
Right now I am working on a food repertoire and carving out time to pursue more physical activity.

4/17/14 - I am working on strength training, specifically The PACE workouts promoted by Al Sears, MD. I've also enjoyed using exercise balls along with my son. I would like to learn "chi running" so I can run without joint issues.

Personal Information:
I am from the hills of western PA where deer are abundant but jobs not so abundant. I have a child attending on-line college and a child on the cusp of high school; we have educated them both at home so far. I teach music part time and do a plethora of other necessary things full time, including supervising my intellectually disabled brother. My husband and I are completing our 23rd years of marriage.

Other Information:
We deal with multiple food allergies. As a result, my children are almost self-sufficient cooks now.

I enjoy reading - especially biographies, art, music, gardening, and too many other things to list. Best of all I like connecting with friends and family.

Thanks for reading my blog about conversations with myself and your comment from The Sound of Music! I love that movie! I can almost recite the whole movie and sing most of the lyrics. I forgot about that line.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Thanks for your great comment on my blog! It was my husbands idea about the Depends. I said with all that jumping that I am going to pee my pants. He just said, well, get some Depends. Plain and simple don't need to discuss anymore. There is the solution and now just do it. He is one not to discuss and discuss, but to get the solution and do it. Works for me! I LOVE your little diddy! I will remember that!
Hugs,
Trina

Oh my gosh I had a big laugh over your comment on my blog. Saddlebagged. Love it. And yes, let the propaganda campaign begin!! I, too, could really use a gazillion dollars.

Hi there, and thanks for stopping by my page! As you can probably tell, I added that new intro in order to lighten up some of my intense self-talk. So far, being nicer to myself seems to be working much better than the alternative!

How are you handling the food allergies these days? My DD went to her first overnight camp recently and I sent along every scrap of food she ate during the two overnights -- 7 meals in total. Bit of a chore, but worth it to know that she could eat safely.

Cheers!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I think you are right and thanks for understanding that it really is for all of us, not just us diabetics. I think a lot more people are headed that way with the standard American diet (SAD). It really is sad in how it is destroying our health relying on too much processed and fast food.
