I want to get past time and financial constraints that have de-motivated serious progress to improve my health.

4/17/13 UPDATE: I'm still working on this goal, but I have made progress and feel less swamped about actually doing what I know to do. I have definitely found motivation to keep at the project. I am especially thankful to have improved my fitness level, and I am looking forward to getting stronger. I am very thankful for the many people willing to share their experiences in moving towards a healthy lifestyle.

AND NOW IT'S LATE IN 2016: I've had an interesting year trying hard to "catch up" on many of life's loose ends. Many of those loose ends are still fraying, but now it's time to focus on re-capturing time for activity and "spark work."

My Goals:
I'd like to make changes that last.

I need to find workable foods that fit in with my family's food allergy needs.


My Program:
Right now I am working on a food repertoire and carving out time to pursue more physical activity.

4/17/14 - I am working on strength training, specifically The PACE workouts promoted by Al Sears, MD. I've also enjoyed using exercise balls along with my son. I would like to learn "chi running" so I can run without joint issues.



Personal Information:
I am from the hills of western PA where deer are abundant but jobs not so abundant. I have a child attending on-line college and a child on the cusp of high school; we have educated them both at home so far. I teach music part time and do a plethora of other necessary things full time, including supervising my intellectually disabled brother. My husband and I are completing our 23rd years of marriage.


Other Information:
We deal with multiple food allergies. As a result, my children are almost self-sufficient cooks now.

I enjoy reading - especially biographies, art, music, gardening, and too many other things to list. Best of all I like connecting with friends and family.

    Hi Edna! Thanks for stopping by! I haven't been making much time to be online in general, but miss Sparking the most! Doing well though! Got myself going with a couple of local sparkfriends and finally started exercising regularly again. The food part needs much improvement, but mostly balancing. I can do really good, then bomb it a stretch. Trying to dig my way out of a slippery slope right now actually! But overall, big improvement, high spirits, and ready to make some progress this sunny season! Good luck and keep in touch!
