For Myself

I need to take care of myself for myself, but I know that it impacts my three daughters.
I've worked in professional kitchens since the early 1970's. Food is a major part of my life. Being a woman in a male dominated field was a struggle back when I started. Being an older woman in a physically demanding industry is a struggle too. I enjoy the struggle. I enjoy the long hours, the heat, the noise. The food.
In my early 50's my metabolism started to slow down. Whoops.

Other Information:
The year that I turned 50 I went on my first hike. My husband is a big hiker, and I wanted something else to share with him. Since then I've been hiking to celebrate all our 'milestones' - birthdays, anniversaries, holidays. Living in up state NY, we do a lot of Adirondack hikes, but we also hike in the Shawangunks and the White Mountains of NH.

Yesterday's workout was on my own. I will see my original trainer Sunday and then I'll see my new trainer on Fri. the 13th. I'm staggering the weeks as I can see Sean this week and then Lynne next week. I only go to one of them 1x a week and do the other workouts on my own. I can't afford to do personal training more than once a week right now.

I do the same thing! It's hard to find a good basic so if you find one that's awesome it's great to get more than one/several. I do that with undertops and get several colors and jeans and such too. And ya it's weird how even within the same jeans if it's a different wash the sizing can be different! LOL
