Here I go again...
Hi, I'm Brenda. I've been all over the place with my weight but finally reached a "healthy" weight after joining a weight loss challenge at work and finding Sparkpeople. That was almost 2 years ago. Before that at one time my weight had gone up as high as 195 and for someone who is only 5'2" with a small frame that was way too heavy. An undiagnosed ACL injury kept me inactive for many years but after I had surgery to repair it I finally started taking off a few pounds. The weight ...
The weight loss was painfully slow until I joined this site. I have been gone from the site for a while now. Life became insanely busy and exhausting in December of 2010 and I have felt like I barely have time to breathe. That as the month that my then 4 year old granddaughter, Athena, came to live with us full time during the same week when I changed jobs and went to working a 12 hour night shift 3 nights per week. I managed this type of schedule fairly well when my daughter was small but at 42 I just do not have the energy I did then. I had lost enough weight to be within about 5 pounds of my goal at that point. Unfortunately between my new work schedule and then trying to keep up with family obligations my hour long daily work outs vanished. I am back now because some of the weight I had lost has crept back on and, while I am still technically in the healthy range, my knees do not like the gain nor do I. If I want to be here for Athena as she grows up (we now have full custody) then I have to get back in to the swing of things. This means starting over with tracking my food and trying to find a work out schedule that I can maintain with everything else that is going on in my life. The jouney is so worth it though!
