I gave my son life and he gave me a reason to live

I just read my about me for the first time in two years and realized I should probably update it! For one, my son is now 4, not 2! I am still single, by choice. I am at a point in my life where I wouldn't turn a good thing away, but I'm not going to go look for it right now. I am focusing on a healthier, happier me!

So two years later, I am still struggling with weight loss. I am my worst enemy, but that is now over. I would hop on the wagon, and then fall off a month later ...

So two years later, I am still struggling with weight loss. I am my worst enemy, but that is now over. I would hop on the wagon, and then fall off a month later (making up some stupid excuse), then hop back on and fall back off. Well, I have been on for many months now, not perfectly, but better than before! I found a pin on pinterest (my newest obsession - follow me - user name is justme615) that said something like "Fall down 7 times, get back up 8." It doesn't matter how many times I fall off the wagon, whats important is that I get back on!

I am currently trying out this thing called running, which I am beginning to love! I am also trying to do the healthy eating thing while trying not to deprive myself! I have found SparkPeople to be a wonderful site loaded with amazingly supportive people and I think that is the biggest reason why SparkPeople works!

You bought the same car I have! I LOOOOOVE it too! Trying hard not to use it too much (I have yet to put gas in it and I've had it almost three weeks). Have fun with it!

Sorry this took so long - as you may have guessed it's been a weird couple of days. The pedometer is made by Omron. I picked it up at Dick's Sporting Goods, but I also found it online at BestBuy (it may be in their stores, too). Here is the ridiculously long link.

I've tried several pedometers and this one is the most reliable - it also keeps track of your entire last week (just keep hitting the top button labeled "memo" and it gives the previous day; hit it again, the next previous day, etc.)
I am notorious for losing track of how much time I spend in front of computer, cooking, gaming and reading. It really reminds me to move, but then, I don't have a 4-year old to chase, either, so you may have all the reminder you need! Hope all is well with you. I found a run for tomorrow that I'm going to do and I'll be thinking of you!

Hi! Just stopping by to say hello. I saw your comment on GIRLALLIN's sparkpage and just wanted to let you know that I'm using an Omron HJ-112 pedometer. It's not too expensive. I think I got mine for $25-30 and I see it on sale at Amazon.com for $22 now. It's pretty reliable. I haven't had any problems with it at all. I'm so used to it now, I actually feel naked when I don't have it on..

Ok, now I am REEEEAAAALLLLY thinking about this karma thing because I was JUST THINKING about you (and one other SparkFriend) this morning, wondering how you've been. I especially relate to you because we've been running "together." My next race is coming up June 13th (that is, if my son's graduation isn't rained out the day prior).

Thanks for the compliment - I'm working on a blog that's sort of about this topic. I started tracking my heavy vs light laptop days and the difference in steps is about 5000! That's crazy!

Happy to hear from you! emoticon
