Just stopping by to say HI and see how you're doing. I know this is a struggle - I have been there many times myself. Every day is a new day to recommitt yourself. Don't beat yourself up if you backslide. It takes "practice" but eventually it will stick!
Well I DID make it to Zumba and it was SO FUN!!! It was mostly a bunch of old ladies, but I was able to keep up! Swim class was another story... just too many kids. I tried though. Guess I'll have to dig out the dance exercise DVDs I have and give them a try!
Did have a (small) piece of Red Velvet cake at Bunko Wdnesday night, but did not go crazy. It was a potluck, and for everything else, I just had a few bites. Just no real way to "track" it, so I skipped tracking the dinner for that night.
Scale didn't move this week at all except to fluctuate up and down a couple pounds, but I'm still at 8 lbs lost. I think my body is confused! haha!
It does take some getting used to - sometimes it's a minute-by-minute decision for me! I had ice cream last night, but I actually measured out a HALF CUP. (Now to get lite ice cream!) You don't have to deny yourself things you like, just retrain your brain on serving sizes. I know it's not just as simple as that, but the MOST important thing is you haven't given up!!
I lost 8 lbs, but have just been sitting there for the last few days. My body probably thinks it's starving, so it's hanging on to everything. Grrr! Frustrating when I am still doing what I am supposed to!
First night at the pool last night, and I kind of "frog swimmed" agains the "current" of the lazy river, but only for about 10 minutes. Just so crowded with kids. But it did get my heart rate up, and I could feel some burn on the backs of my arms (triceps).
I AM going to Zumba today, since I made sure to tell the lady at the dance studio yesterday that I would be there! No excuse to blow it off, even though I am hosting BUNKO at my house tonight!

The scale actually moved for me and I am sooo ecstatic! It wasn't a perfect week for me either - like blowing off Zumba for kitchen dreaming!
I issued a Biggest Loser Challenge here at work - some of the officers got a little pudgy over the holidays! The local hospital and parks and rec do a challenge where you pay $10 into the "pot", and then a $5 "penalty" if you miss a weigh in or gain weight. You "win" based on percentage lost, not pounds. Have a few takers so far! It is WAY too easy for all of us to just eat out. Anyway, there are few takers!
We're getting there - one step at a time! It supposedly takes 30 days to change a habit. We have bad habits to break, so it will take time!
Zumba is CRAZY and so FUN!!!! I tried it with my friend in Puyallup, and I can't do what the skinny girls do, but if you just keep MOVING, you're still getting some benefit! I will send you a link to one from youtube.com! It's like dance aerobics, but with a lot of stretching/yoga? type moves in there. You drink a ton of water and it's an hour long. Supposedly you can burn 800 calories if you keep up! There were women of all shapes and sizes in there and no men. It's high energy Latin and African type music. Just a lot of fun!
Where she lives, classes are EVERYWHERE. It was just offered this last fall at Lexi's dance studio and it's one day and one evening class. I did buy a DVD set, but of course, haven't opened them yet!
