Hi Everyone. I am a 31 year old female from Piedmont, Alabama! I started this journey at 366 pounds with a goal to be at 150 at some point in my life. It's been a very long and hard journey! I was able to get down to 160 pounds, but with life happening have managed to get back up to 270. I've been back on track and I'm down again to 249 with a goal of getting back to 160!

As far back as I can remember, I have always been overweight. I have always been the big girl. It took a picture that my mom took of me in 2005 to show me just how BIG I really was. I sat down with that picture when it came back and cried and cried and cried. It is one thing to realize that you are overweight; however, it takes another part of your soul to do something about it. At that point, I knew that I had to do something, but I didn't know what to do. I begin dieting...yo you that is! So, I lost a bunch of weight!

However, in January 2007, I met a guy. A guy so special in fact that I stopped trying to lose weight and focused on him. I gained back all that I had lost plus more! We married and divorced by 2009.

On my wedding day, I weighed well over 360 pounds. How did I let myself get so big? Why didn't anybody ever tell me that I was getting too ridiculous w/ my eating habits?

On January 1, 2010, I decided that enough was enough! I was going to go through a LIFESTYLE change! No, I am not dieting...I am changing my lifestyle. This journey would not be complete w/o the help of my friends and my family!

I am doing this for them! I want to be around to watch my nephew play college football! I want to be around to see my other nephew own his own business some day! I want to be around to see my students prosper in life!

This is just the beginning....of a life that God has ordained from the beginning!

1. I work out 6 days a week.
2. I do strength training MWF!
3. I weigh myself EVERY day! *It holds me accountable*
4. I wake up each morning with a daily inspiration!
5. 64 ounces of water a day at least!
6. 3 meals a day and 2 healthy snacks!

    Hi I loved reading your story. Very inspiring. I too am just like you as I started this way back in 2009 weighing 280 and got down to 184 by 2012. Only to gained almost all my weight back in 2013. I let life and family get in the way. I didn't watch what I was eating and kept gaining. I even quit spark once to try for a baby and before I new it I was back where I started. So I rejoined and now I am starting over. Today I am currently at 250 and I am struggling but I refuse to give up. I know that one day I will reach my goal weigh of 160. Losing weight is hard work but we can do this. Anyway way to go keep up the good work.. Sandy
