Taking it one day at a time

I am working on losing 11 pounds so that I feel better. If I am being honest, I also don't like the way I look in photos. I realized recently that I have avoided having my picture taken since my weight started to creep up a few years ago. I really need to lose 20 pounds, but wanted to set a shorter term goal that I feel is attainable. I am also trying to resume healthy eating habits even though I currently don't have a kitchen! I realized recently that I have avoided having my picture taken since my weight started to creep up a few years ago. I really need to lose 20 pounds, but wanted to set a shorter term goal that I feel is attainable. I am also trying to resume healthy eating habits even though I currently don't have a kitchen! We started construction on our addition and ripped out the kitchen in April 2007. I did well with my healthier eating habits until about the one year mark, which is when I started to eat whatever I want on a fairly regular basis. I am ready to eat healthier again, as I know that I feel better when I do.

My Goals:
Start eating better, exercise on a regular basis and get toned up.

My Program:
I work out with the personal trainer twice a week (actually 2 diff. trainers) and am trying to strength train an additional 1x per week. I started running about 6 months ago and have found that I really enjoy it. (To my surprise!) In cold weather, I run on the treadmill 2-3x per week and do other cardio 1x per week. I'm going to tackle a 10k training plan from runner's world - I want to build my endurance.

I'm planning on running Wed. after work, if the weather cooperates. I'm scheduled for 6 miles (which will only work if I get out there early enough to beat sunset). Let me know if you'd like to join me for some laps.

Hooray! That was a fun race on Saturday, despite the cold. We should race again sometime. You kept me on pace too.

Hi! Things are going pretty good. I'm really using the food tracker to try and stay in my calorie range. Chocolate and beer are my downfalls:) So I'm limiting those. Exercising has been good but it is getting dark earlier and earlier so I'm going to the gym more after work and doing outdoor activities like running and golf on weekends. Reaching my Thanksgiving goal is within sight...I can TASTE it. Keep me posted on your progress. I hate it when work gets in the way of my life but there is usually a way to arrange schedules to get it in. WE CAN DO THIS! Have a great day!

Bad news... it was pretty dark by 5:15 pm yesterday. Looks like running after work is no longer an option. :o(
