Okay..let's try this. Since my usually "exercise 5 days a week, eat X amount of calories" thing hasn't worked this time around I'm going to try going about it from a different angle. I guess you can say my "new year resolution" will be to make a new change each month (and continue it into the following months..it's suppose to become a habit after all). This will not be just about calories and exercise but include making my environment healthy as well. And I'll take it month by month adding 1 thing to the first. They say it takes 28 to make a habit (who came up with that number anyway?) So let's see if I can develop some healthy ones now.

January: Im doing the 28 day No junk food challenge. Which is essentially no candy, chips, cookies etc, no fast food, no white potatoes or white bread, no sodas..stuff like that.

February: Exercise at least 15 mins each day (preferably 30) and continue with the no junk food from Jan. Work each day to get rid of junk, throw away or add to donate pile.

March: No buying anything non-essential. Food and essential items (toilet paper, cleaning supplies etc) only! No saying "oooo i like that", or "boy that would make things easier if i had that"..nope nope nope! Continue Jan/Feb challenges (because they are now habits right?!)

April: Try new healthy recipe/food each day? Will work on figuring out this challenge (and future months challenges as i get to them)
(No/less waste?)

Okay, lets see how this goes :)

My Goals:
My weight/size goal is to be a size/weight i feel most comfortable at when I get there. Ill know it when Im there :) Until then Im setting my goal weight at the middle of my "ideal weight"

My exercise goals are to be able to complete a 5K, 10K and half marathon.

My Program:
Keep it simple!

Personal Information:
I live in Mississippi. Im married, have 2 boys and 3 step-kids, 4 beautiful granddaughters & 1 cutie pie of a grandson! I'm also mom to 3 dogs (who don't know they are dogs) & 1 cat (that only acknowledges us when shes hungry or her ears itch) and 6 chickens!

Other Information:
I love walking, hiking, camping & kayaking. I read as much as I can (which sadly isn't as much as Id like too). I'm trying to learn to be better at gardening & sewing. Id like to raise more chickens, add bee keeping to my list and maybe one day rabbits. Would love to become much more self sufficient.

I just read your post about keeping accountable. How great that your employer encourages you to do classes and even gives you the time for it! That must be a real motivator!

I wanted to congratulate you on the weight you have lost. I keep telling myself to say something to you but I always forget (too much on my mind these days). You look amazing and I wanted to let you know before I forgot again. emoticon
