Trying to adopt a healthy lifestyle

Hi folks! My name is Erin and I'm 34 years old. I have a whole mess of health problems. My weight hasn't really caused any problems until the past couple of years, but now I've decided I need to work on becoming an overall healthy person. Although I'd like to lose my excess weight, it's not my goal, my goal is to be as healthy as I can, and hopefully in the process, I'll lose weight.

I work full time as a genealogy librarian. I'm not sure I'll be able to post to the boards ...

I work full time as a genealogy librarian. I'm not sure I'll be able to post to the boards often, but I will try to be more of a regular user here.

I started using Spark back I think around 2006 or 2007, but in 2008 joined Weight Watchers and now use my WW meetings and Spark website together to help me lose. It's coming off very slowly, BUT at least it's coming off :o)

My Goals:
I'm just trying to be healthy. That does include weight, but it's not necessarily a goal to lose, say 50 pounds or 100 pounds, I'm more concerned with how my clothes fit and how I feel as a whole then what the scale says. I know I looked my "skinny best" when I was about 150, so that's my "goal" for weight. I'm really just trying to be healthy period: nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, etc.

My Program:
I follow Weight Watchers and use Spark to track my progress and keep in touch with people who have the same issues I do. I've started a schedule of working out 30 minutes a day, which usually consists of walking on my treadmill. Walking has proved to be VERY effective tool for weight loss for me in the past and hopefully it still is. Problem is right now that I get major migraines from exercising so I'm having trouble figuring out what I can and can't do.

Thank you for your comment on my blog. Its good to know that others have seen a chiropractor for hip problems as well. I know its not uncommon but I've never met or heard of anyone else using someone other than back alignment. I know the first time I went to a chiropractor is was for back alignment. I will definitely be calling my chiropractor and getting things back in place. My pain is affecting my everyday living which is not good.
