Hello, and welcome to my spark page! My name is Barbara and I am "A Work in Progress", so if you would like to follow along with me, just check back often, as I will be updating my page from time to time and posting below some specific dates and happenings along the way...starting with the most current.
January 3rd, 2015 - Wow! It is so hard to believe how long it has been since I have been active on SP! I am starting over...again, as I am at my highest weight ever! I have learned a lot through the ups and downs of this journey and want to just embrace all that God has for me during this journey.
April 12th, 2013 - After losing 20 pounds last year, and than getting off course the last part of the year...and starting slow the first part of this year, I am trying to get some form of discipline back! I have gained some back and now have to start over again.
Jan 1st, 2012 - Persistence...that is going to be me in 2012! I have set smaller goals and really want this to be the year that I start to see progress...so watch out, here I come!
August 1st, 2011 - Today is the beginning of a new journey! I WILL be successful this time!
June 19th, 2011 - My sister and I have decided today, on Father''s day we were going to do this journey together! We weighed and measured ourselves and set a very small goal to lose 4 pounds by July 1st. The challenge is on!
May 6th, 2011 - I have lost focus the first quater of this year, so I am now going to try again! Hopefully this time will be the charmer! My goal for the rest of 2011 is to lose 40 pounds....5 lbs per month. I will begin to take baby steps again. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a couple of days ago, and most likely sleep apnia. Enough is Enough! Time to become the person that I know is inside of me!
January 14th, 2011 - O.K...another year has come and gone...here it is 2011! I hope and pray that this will be the year that I finally get a running start and see some progress!
January 4th, 2010 - Well, here it is another year and I have only lost a total of 11 pounds since 2007! I have lost the same weight and gained it back over and over! Enough is enough....my goal for 2010 is to lose 60 pounds total.
September, 2009 - I hurt my knee and found out I have osteoarthritis and had knee surgery on my left knee. This has detered me some in my weight loss journey, but I am determined to change my life habits and get this weight off!
June 14, 2009 - I was reading an article on Spark People that got me motivated again, so here I am using SP and all of it''s tools to help me change my life style habits. And thus the "Work in Progress"
Jan. 23, 2008 - I joined Spark People. Like most people on here, I played around with it, but didn''t get too serious.
October 2007 - I joined a fitness program for women with 100 lbs or more to lose at a local gym. I started out strong...had a personal trainer at first. I was able to do my workouts in the mornings, because I owned my own house design business and was working from home at the time. I really enjoyed the morning workouts. I lost some weight and inches, but, because of slow times in the business I had to find another job outside of the home...so going to the gym became more and more slim.

ONE DAY AT A TIME!
1. Cut out soda
2. Drink more water
3. Ride recumbent bike 20 min. per day
4. Do Physical Therapy exercises 2 days a week
5. Eat more fruits and vegetables
I'm a 51 year old married Christian woman, who loves God and my family. I am involved in our Children's Ministry at our local church. We have two wonderful children, who I believe are our miracles and gifts from God. I love to draw, and design houses.
I am a residential designer, with a passion for drawing and designing house plans.
